BROKEN BOW – The Broken Bow City Council will hold its regular meeting on Tuesday, January 24 at 6 p.m. at the Municipal Building. This will be the council’s final meeting this month.
The council will review the consent agenda which would include the approval of the minutes from the January 10 meeting and the bills as posted.
In other communications, the council is expected to hear from Doggett Tree Service, while in new business, the council will consider appointing Megan Linn as the treasurer of the city, and Madison Neely as deputy clerk.
Additionally, the council will hold a public hearing regarding Ordinance 1265, which is an amended wage ordinance for 2022-2023, which will establish the salary and pay scale ranges for all classifications of employment within the city’s departments. It will also consider that ordinance’s approval.
The council will also consider two board appointments at the meeting: Paul Holland to the Housing Authority Board for a term ending February of 2028, and Rachel Schmidt to the Library Board with a term slated to end in February of 2026.
Also on the agenda is the potential termination of the 5311 Program, which would terminate the agreement between the City of Broken Bow and the Nebraska Department of Transportation for the full purchase of the Handi Bus valued at over $34,000.
Finally, the council will hold a hearing on and consider approving Ordinance 1266, which would replat several acres in the city with the intent of creating a second subdivision in Eagle Crest.
