BROKEN BOW – The Broken Bow Lions welcomed two new members at the November meeting: Ashley Bartak and Vicki Oxford are the newest Lions, thanks to the inexhaustible recruiting efforts of Kim Pedersen and Jackie Linville.

At the January meeting, Walt Wolford was recognized for 45 years of service to the Broken Bow Lions. Walt became a member on February 1, 1978 and served in many different positions over the years including President, Secretary, and Eye Glass Chairman. Walt and his wife Lucille were joined for the evening by their three daughters, Betty Dehn, Cindy Lindner, and Tammy Kitzmiller.

Steve Milidenavich was awarded the Lion of the Year. Steve joined the Broken Bow Lions only a year ago and has set a shining example for the organization; he has attended every event that the Lions Club has been involved in since his admission.
Steve Pederson was recognized for his efforts this year with the inaugural Step-Up Award. According to his fellow lions, Pedersen received the award because of his willingness to “step up” and help any time he is asked, sometimes at the last minute.
All of the awards were presented by Jeanne Grantzinger who is not only a member of the Broken Bow Lions Club but is serving as the District Governor 38I. Nebraska Lions MD-38 is divided into 4 districts L, I, O, & N.

The Broken Bow Lions Club meets on the 2nd Tuesday of each month at 5:30 pm in the room on the west side of the Tumbleweed Café, and welcomes anyone interested to attend the meetings.
