District Cross Country Meets Take Place Today

Area athletes will compete in district cross country today for the opportunity to qualify for next week’s NSAA state cross country championships.  The top three teams in team scoring in each district will qualify for the NSAA State Championships.  The first fifteen runners to finish, whether part of a team or running as an individual will qualify for the State Championship.

Broken Bow will be among the teams competing today at C-5 district meet taking place at Crandell Creek Golf Course at Ogallala.  Joining Broken Bow at today’s meet will be Alliance, Chadron, Chase County, Cozad, Gothenburg, Hershey, McCook, Mitchell, Ogallala, Sidney, and Valentine.  Ansley/Litchfield will be among the teams competing at the D-2 district meet at Elks Golf Course in Hastings.  The  D-4 district meet will take place at the Ainsworth Municipal Golf Course and will include Burwell, Sandhills Valley, Sandhills/Thedford, and Twin Loup.  Arcadia/Loup City, South Loup, and SEM will be among the teams competing at the D-5 district meet at Cross Creek Golf Course at Cambridge and Mullen will compete at the D-6 district meet at Courthouse and Jail Rock Golf Course at Bridgeport.
