State Fire Marshal investigators have determined the cause of the October 19 building explosion at 303 Murry Street in Taylor to be accidental as a result of a propane leak in the building.
The building used for residential living was vacant at the time of the explosion. The building was formerly the Taylor Market until the early 2000’s. The building assessed at $28,360.00 was uninsured and is considered a total loss. No injuries or deaths occurred as a result of the explosion.
Five other buildings in the area reported minor to significant damage as a result of the explosion. A dollar estimate of damages to the other buildings is unavailable as property owners are still in the process of determining the extent of damages
The State Fire Marshal Agency has concluded their investigation.
