MITCHELL, Neb. – Two people were killed in a one-vehicle rollover accident at mile marker 11 on Highway 26 west of Mitchell Thursday afternoon, according to the Nebraska State Patrol.
The state patrol says a flatbed pickup was traveling west on the road, lost control and rolled, landing in the eastbound lanes. A trooper at the scene said a man and woman in a flatbed pickup were both ejected from the vehicle. They were pronounced dead at the scene.
The accident, which happened shortly after 3 p.m., remains under investigation. The names of the victims have not been released.
Mitchell Rural Fire Department, Morrill Rural Fire Department and AirLink medical helicopter responded to the scene.
