Area Cowboys and Cowgirls Compete in Opening Weekend of Nebraska High School Rodeo Spring Season

The 2021 Nebraska High School Rodeo spring season began this past weekend with two rodeos in McCook.  Three area contestants placed first in each rodeo in their respective event.  Frazier Kaelin of Broken Bow was the champion in the boys cutting on both Saturday and Sunday.  His winning score on Saturday was 74 and his winning score on Sunday was 73.  Spencer DeNaeyer of Seneca was the bareback champion on Saturday with a score of 73 and won Sunday’s rodeo in the event with a 65.  Madison Mills of Eddyville was the pole bending champion each day winning on Saturday with a time of 20.361 and winning Sunday with a time of 20.312 seconds.  Zane Druery of Anselmo teamed with Gage Davis of Cody to win the team roping on Saturday in a time of 8.41 seconds.
