ALBION - A man with a long criminal history in Virginia has a warrant out for his arrest, after stealing a vehicle from an Albion, Nebraska dealership.
The owner of an auto dealer in Albion reported to authorities that Keith Lassiter, 30, now of Lincoln, paid for a vehicle with a check that was later found to be attached to a closed bank account, according to an affidavit. The check was valued at $4,940, and Lassiter then attempted to sell the vehicle to another buyer, says the affidavit.
Lassiter is charged with felony theft by deception and issuing a bad check, as well as a misdemeanor for issuing a bad check, says court records.
An arrest affidavit says Lassiter has a lengthy conviction history in Virginia, including theft, insufficient checks, larceny, possession of a controlled substance, contempt of court, assault, fraud, trespassing, burglary, identify theft, resisting arrest, and possession of marijuana.
