Burwell Track Invite Recap

Burwell hosted its annual track and field invitational on Friday. West Holt won both the boys and girls team titles. The top area boys team finisher was Ansley/Litchfield who was third followed by Twin Loup in fourth. The top area girls team finisher was Burwell who was third and Sandhills/Thedford finished in the top five placing fifth.

Recapping some of the area highlights, Mieke van der Walt of Burwell set a new meet and school record in the girls 100 meter hurdles with a winning time of 15.54 seconds. Van der Walt also won the girls 300 meter hurdles in a winning time of 48.44. Luke Bailey of Ansley/Litchfield claimed four golds on the day. Bailey won the boys triple jump with an effort of 42’6″, won the long jump with an effort of 20’3.5″, won the 110 meter hurdles in a time of 15.66 seconds, and the 300 meter hurdles in a time of 42.02.

Wyatt Stieb of Arcadia/Loup City in the boys shot put (43′ 3.5″)
South Loup (Ivy Tullis, Erin Fitzgerald, Jade Biermann, and Ella Cool) in the girls 4×800 (10:53.38)
Quincy Ryker of Twin Loup in the boys pole vault (13′)
Ella Cool of South Loup in the girls 3200 (13:37.64)
