Twin Loup and Arcadia/Loup City were among the teams that competed at the Elgin Public Pope John wrestling invitational on Saturday. Twin Loup was runner-up in the team standings to Plainview. Arcadia/Loup City placed 6th.
Among the area highlights, it was another big day for the Coons boys of Twin Loup. Cooper claimed the title at 145 lbs. and brother Colby was champion at 152 lbs. Both won by fall in their championship match. Ethan Kipp of Twin Loup was runner-up at 113 lbs. Jakob Jerabek of Arcadia/Loup City was runner-up at 285 lbs. Jerabek dropped his first match of the season losing a tough 1-0 decision to Marcus Cave of Weeping Water in the championship match.
