Trial Date Set For Broken Bow Mayor Jonathon Berghorst

CUSTER COUNTY— A trial date has been set for Broken Bow Mayor Jonathon Berghorst in Custer County Court after a progression conference was held on Monday, August 9.

Berghorst, alongside his attorney Christopher Wickham, appeared in court as Berghorst is facing charges of alleged 3rd degree assault (class I misdemeanor) and oppression under color of office (class II misdemeanor). The charges were brought against Berghorst by the Attorney General’s office which is being represented by Zachary Blackman.

Judge Tami Schendt set the case for a two day trial to occur December 12-13 beginning at 9 AM. A deadline for discovery, pre-trial motions, and special jury instructions was set for November 1 with a pretrial/status conference to occur on November 18 at 2 PM.
