CUSTER COUNTY— The Nebraska Primary Election is approaching on May 12 and there is less than 10 days remaining where voters will be able to request mail in ballots. Those who have already received their ballots however, can now drop them off without having to pay for postage.
Voters can feel confident that their votes will be protected as the drop box is secured into place on the west side of the Custer County Courthouse. For those who have not completed the vote-by-mail ballot form, you have until May 1 to file the required paperwork.
Forms are available by contacting the Custer County Clerk or online through the Custer County website or the Secretary of State’s website.
Polls will remain open for those who would like to vote in person and poll workers will be taking extra precautions. Secretary of State Bob Evnen said that poll workers will have protective equipment, hand sanitizer, disinfecting wipes, and individual pens for each voter to keep.
