A person was killed Thursday morning in a crash in southeast Lincoln involving an SUV and a semitrailer truck, Lincoln police said.
Shortly after 9:30 a.m., police said, Lincoln police officers and Lincoln Fire and Rescue crews responded to a crash near Nebraska Highway 2 and South 91st Street. Police said it appears the SUV rear-ended the semi, but it initially was unclear whether the semi was moving or stopped at the time.
One person died at the scene, police said. No other injuries have been reported.
Westbound Highway 2 will be closed from Yankee Hill Road for an extended period of time as police investigate the crash, officials said.
