Broken Bow Begins District Play at Valentine – on KCNI

The Broken Bow football team begins play in the C1-7 district tonight as they travel to Valentine to take on the Badgers.  Valentine is 2-2 on the season with their losses coming to Ogallala at home and undefeated Winner, SD last week on the road.  Their wins have come against Mitchell and Chadron, both on the road.  The Indians will try to bounce back following a 28-12 loss to Chadron last Friday at home.  This is the opening district game of the year for both teams.  Broken Bow head coach Mike Garner told KCNI/KBBN Sports that the team is excited to start district play and Valentine will be a good test.

According to coach Garner, one area of focus in practice this week has been to get better defensively.

Tonight’s game will be broadcast on KCNI 1280 AM / 96.3 FM beginning with the Custer Federal State Bank Friday Night Lights pregame show at 6pm.  Kickoff is scheduled for 7.

Other area matchups on the schedule tonight include:
Mullen at Brady (KBBN game of the week on 95.3 FM and kbbn.com – 7pm)
South Loup at Arcadia/Loup City
Amherst at Ansley/Litchfield
Elm Creek at Burwell
Twin Loup at CWCE
Sandhills Valley at Eustis Farnam
