Bow Juniors and Seniors Split Doubleheader with Holdrege

The Broken Bow juniors and seniors legion teams split a doubleheader Friday night with Holdrege at Paul Brown Field.

The Bow juniors remained undefeated on the season with an impressive 8-0 win in five innings.  Caden Holm was brilliant on the mound going all five innings for the win giving up just one hit and striking out five.  Carter Johnson helped lead the offense going 2 for 3 with 2 runs scored.  The Bow juniors are now 5-0 on the season.

The Bow seniors fell to Holdrege 16-8.  Holdrege jumped out to a 3-0 lead at the end of the 2nd inning but then saw Bow score 2 in the third to climb to within a run.  However, that would be as close as Broken Bow would get as Holdrege scored 2 in the fourth and 4 in the fifth to take control en route to a 16-8 victory.  Blake Denson helped lead the charge offensively for Bow finishing 2 for 5 with 3 runs scored and an RBI.  The Bow seniors are 3-2 on the season.

Next up for the two teams is a doubleheader with Imperial on Saturday at Paul Brown Field.  The juniors game is scheduled for 1pm with the seniors to follow at 3.  The seniors game will be broadcast on KBBN 95.3 FM.
