Bow Junior and Senior Legion Teams Both Pick up Wins Against Overton

The Broken Bow juniors and seniors legion baseball teams each picked up wins against Overton Thursday at Broken Bow’s Paul Brown field.

The Bow seniors saw their bats come alive as they scored 21 runs on 15 hits for a 21-1 win against the Overton senior squad.  Broken Bow took control right away in the first inning as they sent 13 men to the plate and scored 9 runs.  Bow had an even bigger inning in the third when they batted threw the order twice and scored 12 runs.  Coy Johnson was one of the offensive heroes finishing 3 for 4 with 3 runs scored and 6 RBI.  Blake Denson started the game and pitched 3 innings giving up just one hit and striking out five.  Coy Johnson pitched two innings giving up one run on 2 hits.  The seniors are now 3-1 on the season.

The Bow juniors improved to 4-0 Thursday with a 15-10 win against Overton.  Bow scored 7 runs in the first inning took take control early and then held off a late Overton rally to preserve the win.  Nick Shada was the winning pitcher going 5 innings and giving 8 runs on just 4 hits with one strikeout.  Brody Ridder had 3 RBI in the game while Sawyer Bumgarner and Wyatt Woodward each went 2 for 2 with 1 RBI.

Both teams will be back in action Friday when the host Holdrege for a juniors and seniors doubleheader.  The juniors game is scheduled to start at 5:30 with the seniors game to follow at 8 pm.  The seniors game will be broadcast on KBBN 95.3 FM
