Zippia rates Missouri, Nebraska, Kansas as top firework states rates Missouri and Nebraska as the nation's highest fireworks loving states.

Zippia specializes in job searches and describes itself as the career experts, but also has its eye on explosives for Independence Day.

It says Americans will set off around 30,000 tons of explosives this summer despite an expected 15 percent increase in costs.

The top states for firework imports are:

  2. Nebraska
  3. Kansas

  9. Indiana
  10. Ohio

Zippia says the top states were decided by dividing total firework imports as reported by the US Trade Census with total population.

Missouri’s imports per capita are 6.9, followed by Nebraska at 5.9.

Zippia says Nebraska imports enough fireworks so that each person could shoot off six fireworks each year.
