Wymore Firefighters seeking donated vehicles, for training

BEATRICE – Wymore Firefighters are asking persons to donate an old vehicle to aid department personnel in their training.

The Wymore Fire and Rescue Department practices vehicle extrication so crews are familiar with the Jaws of Life and other equipment to free persons during auto accidents.

By donating a vehicle, you will get a receipt that you can use for a tax deduction for gifting the vehicle to the department.

Wymore Fire Chief Mark Meints says if you wish to donate a vehicle, remove all personal items from the vehicle and provide the title to the fire department.  You can call the Wymore Fire Department and ask whether vehicles are needed for extrication training.  The department will also take vehicles as a donation, using the money earned from scrap to help cover operating costs of the department.

Wymore firefighters can also arrange for a tow truck to pick up a vehicle, with the title signed over to the towing company.

Persons interested in donating a vehicle can call 402-806-7451….402-239-7538….or Wymore City Offices at 402-645-3377.
