Woman assaulted, has her car stolen while pumping gas

LINCOLN, Neb. --A suspect is still at large after allegedly assaulting a woman and stealing her car as she was pumping gas.

Lincoln Police officers were called to U-Stop at 6801 Wildcat Drive in Lincoln early Tuesday morning. A 19-year-old stated that she had been filling up her 2009 Volkswagen Passat when a man approached her, pointed a gun at her and demanded her car.

Police reports state that the man struck the victim in the face with the gun after she screamed and tried to get away from him. The man then entered the vehicle and drove away.

The victim was treated at a local hospital for minor injuries. Her car, valued at $3,000 was located unoccupied in Omaha on Tuesday.

Officers canvassed the area and process the scene for evidence. Video from the business has been obtained and is currently being analyzed by LPD.
