Woman accused of biting officer at Lincoln library

A 37-year-old woman has been arrested after Lincoln police accused her of biting an officer and striking another.
Wednesday about 2:50 p.m., officers were dispatched to Bennett Martin Library near 14th and O Streets over a disturbance and trespassing report, police said. Officers learned that a Lincoln woman was screaming and refusing to leave the library. Police said officers asked her three times to leave the library. The woman refused, police said, and an officer attempted to detain her.
Police said the woman ripped away the officer’s radio mic and earpiece. The officer pushed the woman to the floor, police said, and was attempting to handcuff her when she bit his left arm, causing it to bleed.
Another officer arrived to help handcuff the woman, who struck his right thumb, causing redness and pain, police said.
The woman was booked into the Lancaster County Jail on suspicion of two felony counts of assault on an officer.
