Weather service places Nebraska Panhandle, northeast Colorado in severe thunderstorm watch

SIDNEY - Strong showers and thunderstorms developed along the Nebraska-Wyoming border at 3 p.m. Saturday afternoon, pushing east southeast.

Kimball County, including the city of Kimball, was placed in a severe thunderstorm warning. Small hail and gusty winds hit southwest Kimball, Bridgeport and 10-12 miles northwest of Potter.

A severe thunderstorm watch remains in effect until 10 p.m. for the Nebraska panhandle and northeast Colorado. The watch also includes Keith, Arthur, Chase and Perkins Counties.
