A Utah man died Saturday in a one-vehicle crash near Cozad, according to the Nebraska State Patrol.
Joseph Vitek, 50, was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators determined that Vitek was driving a semitrailer truck west on Interstate 80 about four miles east of Cozad about 12:20 a.m. when he went off the road.
The semi left the roadway near a rest stop and crashed into a tree, the report said. The cause of the crash is under investigation.
