NORFOLK, Neb. -- The Norfolk Country Club saw 17 teams organize for a special day of golfing, all for the goal of raising money for the St. Jude Children's Hospital.
The event was hosted by local Norfolk radio station US 92.7 in association with ERNST Auto Group and a number of other sponsors to raise money for the St. Jude Children's Research Hospital. The event had the 17 teams start out at different holes and make their way across the course trying to outdo the other. The event had a raffle, Mulligans being sold and an impossible putt all in an effort to continue raising funds.
"We are having a golf outing in hopes to raise dollars to continue the research for childhood cancer through St. Jude Children's Research hospital," Lydee Jo Krueger the promotions director for US92 said. "Year after year, US92 has done radiothons in February and since September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month we thought we would add a little fun into our St. Jude fundraising and do a golf outing."
Krueger also wanted to thank the sponsors for donating prizes, money and helping out with the second annual golf outing as well as the support shown from northeast Nebraska.
"Northeast Nebraska never disappoints when it comes to the support of St. Jude Children's Research Hospital and we couldn't be more appreciative."
All proceeds made at the event went directly towards fund raising and will be added to the amount made by the US92 radiothon in February.
