Two-alarm duplex fire displaces multiple Lincoln residents

LINCOLN, Neb. — Lincoln Fire and Rescue says a two-alarm duplex fire has displaced at least three people.

The call for the fire came in just before 10:30 p.m. Sunday night near 44th & Colfax in northeast Lincoln.

Acting Fire Chief Dave Engler says arriving firefighters had heavy fire showing from the structure, but were able to get it all under control rather quickly.

The blaze left heavy damage to the front of the structure, as well as to vehicles in separate garages.

Chief Engler said there was smoke damage inside the homes themselves. No one was hurt, but roughly $250,000 worth of damages were reported. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
