Troopers issue citations during AppleJack Festival

The Nebraska State Patrol issued 12 speeding citations Friday and Saturday during a special-enforcement effort in Otoe County.
Troopers’ crackdown occurred during the annual AppleJack Festival in Nebraska City. The patrol conducted saturation patrols in the area with the aim of reducing the potential for alcohol-related crashes.
Troopers issued one citation for no proof of insurance, seven for not wearing a seat belt and three for having an improper child restraint, the patrol said. The special enforcement was paid for in part with a $2,375 grant from the Nebraska Department of Transportation’s Highway Safety Office.
