Tornados strike central, western Nebraska

HASTINGS, Neb. — As expected, a stormfront hammered western and central Nebraska Wednesday, producing multiple reports of tornados, some of which caused damage.

The National Weather Service received reports of nine different tornados touching down in Nebraska Wednesday afternoon and evening, including one that knocked down tree and power poles in Dundy County.

Damaging hail was also reported with baseball-sized hail stones spotted in the southwest Nebraska town of Gurley.

There have been no reports of any injuries.
