Three-part concert series coming to Norfolk this summer

NORFOLK, Neb. – The Downtown Norfolk Association (DNA) is hosting a three-part concert series this summer at the soon-to-be-completed Riverpoint Square at 3rd and Norfolk Avenue. This event is free to the public.

All three concerts are slated for Thursday evenings with the beer garden opening at 5:30 and local bands playing from 6:00 – 9:00. The first concert will be on June 17, featuring Midwest Music Center’s Rock Band Camp. Capital Nine will headline on July 29th and the September 2nd show will feature Angi Kritz and the PolkaToons. The DNA will also close 3rd Street from Norfolk Avenue south to the alley to give everyone extra room for social distancing.

The DNA decided to host these events on Thursday nights to continue to build shopping, dining, and nightlife foot traffic during the extended shopping hours every Thursday evening.

Food will be available from a number of downtown restaurants offering 3-item menus, ranging from pizza, sandwiches, kid-friendly meals, and desserts. Attendees will be able to order food and pick it up from within the beer garden. The DNA asks that you bring lawn chairs and plan to purchase drink and food tickets with cash only.

The public is encouraged to stroll up and down the avenue, as all restaurants, bars, and stores will be open throughout the event and many will be offering special sales and promotions. This is an event suited for people of all ages and everyone is encouraged to come downtown and enjoy the electric atmosphere.
