Three arrested in Fairbury drug bust

FAIRBURY, NE — Three people are suspected of drug crimes after a bust in Fairbury.

The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office says deputies served a search warrant at an apartment in the 700 block of 4th St. on Monday morning. Authorities say they found nearly 30 grams of meth, several baggies of marijuana, prescription pills, drug paraphernalia and more.

Deputies arrested Trey Saathoff, 24, on an existing warrant and suspicion of four drug offenses. Saathoff pleaded no contest last year to attempted accessory to murder for his role in the 2019 slaying of Marc Jarrell at Crystal Springs Park. The existing warrant was for a violation of his post-release supervision.

Deputies also arrested Daniel Shibley, 28, on suspicion of three drug charges and arrested Alayna Montague on suspicion of child abuse and four drug charges.

The case is still under investigation.
