Temporary employee at OPS middle school placed on leave after students report concerns

A temporary custodian at Norris Middle School has been placed on administrative leave after a group of students voiced concerns.

The school’s principal, Carrie Carr, said in a letter to parents and staff that Child Protective Services has been called.

“We take reports like this very seriously,” she wrote, though she didn’t specify what the concerns entailed.

Carr said in the letter that concerns about “inappropriate conduct” can be reported to the Child Abuse Hotline at 800-652-1999.

OPS spokeswoman Monique Farmer said she didn’t know what the concerns were but that a group of students reported them.
