Summer food program offering free meals for children through the summer

For those that rely on school lunches to feed their children, there will be free meals offered across Nebraska. The program will be for children between the ages of one and 18.

The meals are being made available to the children through the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP), a U.S. Department of Agriculture initiative.

The USDA says there are also a number of camps and programs that are offering free meals to children that are enrolled. They ask that anyone enrolled in one of those programs check the meal plans before attending a meal service site.
