MURRAY - Storm damage forced the closure of Highway 1 at Murray Tuesday.
Thunderstorms brought up to 4 inches of rain in Douglas County and prompted flood advisories in Cass County.
Sometime overnight, Cass County sheriff's deputies noticed trouble with the highway near the bridge approach at Murray. The road, which was regulated with stoplights through the construction area, was closed without any danger to motorists reported.
The damage is being assessed Tuesday.
Crews at the scene said there is no telling how long repairs will take. Even the assessment will take time because the stability of the soil is in question.
