TILDEN, Neb. -- A vehicle stolen from North Platte was found in Tilden Friday afternoon.
Around 1:40 p.m. Friday, the Madison County Sheriff's Office got a report of a suspicious vehicle located at Will's Paint and Body in Tilden.
Authorities say that the vehicle was a white 1994 Chevrolet Suburban with 35-inch tires. After further investigation, Madison County Sheriff's Office determined that the vehicle was stolen from the North Platte area.
The Sheriff's Department says that witnesses say a black male, wearing all black clothes and a black backpack, was seen getting out of the truck and walking away from the area earlier in the day.
The press release says that after a short amount of time, witnesses had said the same man had been seen walking eastbound on Highway 275 away from Tilden.
Deputies say they were able to locate the man and had contact with him. The man identified himself as 40-year-old Timothy Pickett.
Authorities say that Pickett was transported back to the stolen vehicle where he was positively identified by the witness.
Pickett was then arrested for being in possession of stolen property and booked in the Madison County Jail.
