State lawmakers urging Ricketts to reinstate COVID dashboard

NEBRASKA -- Citing the increasing number of COVID cases and hospitalizations in Nebraska, 11 state senators want Governor Ricketts to make crucial detailed information about the virus available to the public once again.

The 11 senators -- 10 Democrats and Republican John McCollister -- are urging Ricketts to reinstate the Nebraska Health Department's COVID-19 dashboard, which was shut down June 30th.

In a letter to Ricketts the lawmakers ask that all 93 counties be required to report county-by-county infection rates, COVID related deaths, and the number of available hospital beds and respirators.

The group argues that the added information will help businesses, schools, and organizations make more informed decisions regarding the virus.
