Son of former Nebraska athletic director arrested on suspicion of sexual assault

The son of former University of Nebraska-Lincoln Athletic Director Shawn Eichorst has been arrested on suspicion of sexual assault.
On Oct. 26, Lincoln police took a report of an alleged sexual assault that took place in Lincoln and involved two minors, a spokeswoman said. On Friday, after conducting an investigation, members of the Lincoln Police Department's Criminal Investigations Unit took Jack Eichorst, 18, into custody. He was taken to the Lancaster County Jail. According to a police incident report, the alleged assault took place at the Eichorst home late Friday, Oct. 20 or in the early morning of Oct. 21 and involved a 12-year-old boy. The report makes no mention of a second minor.
Shawn Eichorst was fired Sept. 21 from the athletic director's job, about five years after he was picked to replace Tom Osborne. Eichorst came to Nebraska from Miami, where he was athletic director in 2011 and '12, after working previously in the athletic departments at Wisconsin and South Carolina.
