Software, hardware changes to affect Lincoln County early voting

NORTH PLATTE, Neb. (KNOP) - Early voting will see some changes in North Platte.

At a Monday morning Lincoln County Commissioners meeting, the otherwise light agenda got tense during discussion of the early election process.

“We did discuss a very important topic and that is the purchase of a software system for the county clerk and commissioner election commissioner,” District 2 Commissioner Kent Weems said.

The commissioners said they want to make sure that the integrity of the election is fair and valid, especially for the early voters.

“What it is going to do is try to streamline and expedite the balancing process for early voters,” Weems said.

The new software and hardware system that will be used for this process is Balotar.
