A semitrailer truck driver was critically injured Sunday when he tried to pass another semitrailer truck that was slowing in front of him on Interstate 80.
The collision occurred about 8:30 a.m. in the westbound lanes of I-80 about 30 miles northeast of Council Bluffs.
The injured driver is James Dolan, 60, of Bakersfield, California.
Dolan’s semi came to a stop in the ditch; the other semi came to a stop on the shoulder.
Dolan was flown by medical helicopter to the Nebraska Medical Center.
