Search for stolen items leads to arrest on unrelated charges in Norfolk

NORFOLK, Neb. -- A northeast Nebraska man was arrested after a suspected connection to a Knox County theft -- though his arrest was unrelated to the theft.

On Monday morning, Norfolk Police made contact with 26-year-old Gordon J. Davidson, of Ewing, at a Norfolk business on Washington Avenue.

After being asked about the alleged theft in Knox County, Davidson allowed officers to search his vehicle. The stolen items were not located, but officers did  locate a .380
pistol concealed in a Tupperware container.

A check of Davidson’s criminal history showed that due to past criminal convictions, he was prohibited from possessing firearms. He was arrested for possession of a deadly weapon by a prohibited person and a concealed weapon violation.

He was housed in the Norfolk City Jail and later transferred to the Madison County Jail
