Scottsbluff Police and Fire Departments pack bags for National Night Out next week

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KNEP) - Police and firefighters of Scottsbluff along with other volunteers are prepping for National Night Out on August 3.

Scottsbluff Police said they are filling 500 Goodie Bags for kids with candy, school items and other miscellaneous items which will be available at the police department booth for the event. Supplies come from generous donators in the community. This is all in preparation for National Night Out in Scottsbluff which include games and activities. Also highlighting the event is the car, truck, motorcycle, and bike show. This gives an opportunity for the community to engage with first responders outside of work.

“A lot of times our interactions with people are under stressful times and this is the opposite of that to build relationships,” said Captain Brian Wasson Scottsbluff Police Department. “We rely on the community a lot for a lot of what we do it’s just something to get us together and make those relationships.”

Scottsbluff Police said National Night Out takes from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M. on Broadway.
