SCC Storm golfers in sixth, after round one of NJCAA Division Two Nationals

BEATRICE – The Southeast Community College men’s golf team was just ten shots out of the team lead at the NJCAA Division Two National tournament, going into Wednesday’s second round.

Coach Calvin Freeman’s Storm golfers shot a team score of 297, ten shots behind leader South Mountain Community College of Arizona. That placed SCC in sixth, after the first day.

For SCC, Geronimo Narizanno led the way with an opening round 69. Allan Osomio and Ander Ibarra fired rounds of 74, while SCC’s Andrew Pacquette carded an 80…and Josh Norris, an 81.

South Mountain’s Cecil Belisle had the opening round’s best score…a 67. Rounds of 68 were shot by James Morgan of Kirkwood Community College and Peyton Coursey, of Tyler, Texas Community College.

Playing individually, Metro Community College of Omaha’s Murphy Scott fired a 69.

The 72-hole tournament is being played at Swan Lake Resort’s Black Course, in Plymouth, Indiana. Nineteen teams are competing in NJCAA Division Two.
