Road Rage Shooting Suspect Arrested

KIMBALL --- The suspect in a road rage shooting on Interstate 80 is in jail after he was found in Wyoming. On Wednesday, a minivan was driving behind a slow-moving Kia Rio through a one-lane construction zone. The minivan honked and flashed their lights in order to get the Kia Rio to drive faster. Once the construction zone ended and both lanes were open, the Kia Rio stayed in the passing lane, still driving slowly. When the minivan attempted to pass in the next lane, a passenger in the Kia Rio shot at the minivan with a handgun. The bullet went through the window, and the driver suffered minor injuries. After the victims stopped their car, the Kia Rio kept driving all the way to Wyoming. The Nebraska State Patrol and the Wyoming Highway Patrol worked together and was able to find the suspect and take him into custody. The suspect is identified as Kevin Austin of Florida, and he will be returned to Nebraska on an arrest warrant for 2nd degree assault and the use of a weapon to commit a felony.
