Riverside Discovery Center gets just over $16,000 in funding

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. (KNEP) - Last night Gering City Council approved from their Keno funding to allocate just over $16,000 to the Riverside Discovery Center.

Riverside staff said the money will go toward enhancing their Splash Pad a water amusement for kids. Improvements include resurfacing the Splash Pad, additional seating and water features. Overall the idea is to provide an easier access and more enjoyable experience for all families.

“One of the fun key features will actually be a new water tower splash feature that will look somewhat similar to the water tower in the bear exhibit,” said Anthony Mason Executive Director Riverside Discovery Center. “So while the bears are playing with their water tower kids will be able to play in a water tower feature here on the splash pad as well.”

Riverside staff said they are trying to raise $75,000 for the Splash Pad. Individuals and Businesses can donate at
