Ricketts, Gaylor Baird speak at ceremony recognizing fallen military, law enforcement

LINCOLN, NE — As the country marks 20 years since the 9/11 terrorist attacks, Nebraska is remembering fallen military members and first responders.

National non-profit Honor 365 hosted a ceremony recognizing those groups Wednesday morning in Lincoln. The group honored the families of four locals who died in service, including Lincoln Police Investigator Mario Herrera.

Gov. Pete Ricketts and Lincoln Mayor Leirion Gaylor Baird both addressed the crowd and stressed the importance of remembering those who served and are serving.
