Plattsmouth man sentenced in federal court on child porn charges

PLATTSMOUTH, Neb. -- A southeast Nebraska man will spend decades behind bars for child porn offenses.

34-year-old Juan Burnell, of Plattsmouth, was sentenced in federal court Friday. He was sentenced to 25 years in prison for distributing child pornography.

Authorities say last year Burnell used his Instagram account to upload an image of child pornography to the internet. A search of his Google account turned up five videos.

Burnell was already a registered sex offender and had been convicted of assault with intent to commit sexual abuse in Iowa and third-degree sexual assault of a child in Nebraska.
