Owner of panhandle gas stations convicted of bootlegging

SCOTTSBLUFF, Neb. -- The owner of a chain of gas stations in Nebraska is facing jail time for violating liquor laws.

A Scotts Bluff County jury has convicted 59-year-old Kuldip Singh on four counts each of evading liquor tax and getting liquor from other than a licensed dealer.

He faces up to two years in prison and thousands of dollars in fines when he's sentenced in July.

Singh was charged last October after investigators found 36 marked bottles of liquor in the Scottsbluff store that had apparently been bought in Wyoming.
