NEBRASKA CITY – Otoe County lodging tax hit a low during the pandemic last May and July.
The May collections have risen steadily from $8,600 in 2015 to $14,400 in 2019. The June collections made a similar climb of just over $10,000 to $16,400 in 2019.
During the pandemic, the May numbers dropped to $4,700 and June was less than half at $7,700.
Collections in August were $10,000 less than the prior year.
The pandemic did not impact lodging taxes collection as much in December and January.
