OPPD outages drop below 1,000

OMAHA, Neb. -- For the first time in a week the number of homes and businesses in and around Omaha without power is in the hundreds, not the thousands.

According to OPPD, as of 6:00 Friday morning, 670 were still in the dark following Saturday's record outage storm that left 188,000 without power.

OPPD says those still without electricity likely have damage to their home's electric infrastructure and will need to hire a private electrician to complete work on their end before OPPD can complete its work.
