A lauded, Grammy-winning Americana, rock and country singer-songwriter is coming back to Omaha.
Rolling Stone called him “the last of a dying breed.” John Mayer said he’s “the best lyric writer of my generation.” GQ said he was “shaking up the Nashville establishment.”
And now, Jason Isbell and his band, The 400 Unit, will play the Waiting Room Outdoors on Aug. 4.
Formerly a member of the Drive-By Truckers, Isbell left the band in 2007 and began releasing solo albums. Since, he’s racked up four Grammy Awards and mountains of praise for albums such as “Southeastern” and “The Nashville Sound.”
In the same time, Isbell has graduated from opening act to festival headliner, bringing his songs about heartbreak, drinking, sobriety, fathers and sons and making mistakes to ever larger audiences.
Isbell last played a sold-out Sokol Auditorium in 2015, and he came to SumTur Amphitheater in 2017.
