One dead after collision between tractor and car

ST. PAUL, Neb. — One person has been killed in a crash between a tractor and a car in central Nebraska on Sunday morning.

The Howard County Sheriff’s Office says both vehicles were northbound on Highway 281 about four miles southwest of the town of Wolbach. Authorities say the driver of the passenger vehicle struck the rear of the tractor.

The Nebraska State Patrol said Ashley M. Hurley of Grand Island was pronounced dead at a local hospital.

The Nebraska State Patrol said the driver of the passenger vehicle, 27-year-old Ashley M. Hurley of Grand Island was pronounced dead at a local hospital. A juvenile passenger in the same vehicle was brought to Howard County Medical Center in St. Paul. The juvenile was treated and released. 

The driver of the tractor was uninjured.
