Omaha woman in serious condition after falling off hood of moving vehicle

An 18-year-old Omaha woman sustained a head injury early Sunday after falling from a moving car near 72nd Street and Sorensen Parkway. Jasaun A. Thompson was was sitting in the front seat of a 1999 Buick Century with her upper body out of the window, other occupants of the car told police. She then climbed onto the roof of the car and slid down onto the windshield, a maneuver she has done before, the witnesses said. Thompson, who police said had been drinking, fell off the Buick's hood while the car was still in motion and hit her head on the pavement. A 19-year-old woman who was operating the Buick was ticketed on suspicion of not having a driver's license. The injuries to Thompson were not considered life threatening, police said. She was taken to the Nebraska Medical Center in serious condition about 3 a.m.
