OMAHA, Neb. -- The 2020 Olympic Swim Trials made a big splash to the Nebraska economy.
The Omaha Visitors Bureau says the Olympics Swim Trials in Omaha generated $34 million in economic impact to Omaha and Nebraska.
The event was held over two weeks in June 2021 after being delayed a year because of the pandemic.
The impact came primarily form out-of-state visitors paying for hotel rooms, tickets, meals, shopping, and other expenses.
Another report found that the event resulted in an estimated $47 million media value from local coverage, national broadcasts and social media.
