NSP, La Vista Police searching for missing 11-year-old

LA VISTA, Neb. — An endangered missing advisory was issued overnight for 11-year-old Ryan Larsen.

Larsen is described as a white male, 5’8″, 125 lbs. with brown hair and hazel eyes. Authorities say Larsen is diagnosed with autism.

Larsen was last known to be in the vicinity of 78 Street & Terry Drive in La Vista at approximately 12:00 p.m. Monday. If you have any information, please call 911, or contact the La Vista Police Department at 402-331-1582, immediately.

The Nebraska State Patrol is aiding in the search, which began Monday night and resumed again early Tuesday morning.

Annette Eyman, spokeswoman for Papillion-La Vista School District, said Larsen went missing while moving from one class to another, and he had waved at her. The school has been searched multiple times, including with K9s.

Police Chief Robert Lausten said the department has spoken with Larsen’s family, who say he’s gone missing several times but not to this extent. Lausten said police have reason to believe Larsen was watching YouTube videos on how to hide from police.
